COMPANY BADGE for INSIDE MANAGEMENT

COMPANY BADGE: WHAT IS IT?
The company badge is a physical identification card (or tag) used by personnel within company systems that require identification.
It is a card displaying the company logo and an identification number, to which additional information can be added, such as:
- Employee name
- Photo
- Employee ID
- Department
- Job title
- Barcode
- Other relevant data for use in different contexts
HOW DOES THE COMPANY BADGE WORK?
The badge’s use depends on the presence of a device capable of reading it—whether a time clock, an access control terminal or other device. Each time the badge is scanned, the device records the person’s ID and, if applicable, communicates the information to management software (attendance tracking, access control, etc.).
The badge can be used for various purposes:
Marking the start and end of work shifts for attendance records and payroll processing
Identifying employees at access control points around the company perimeter (turnstiles, pedestrian gates, vehicle gates, etc.) and within the premises (server rooms, administration, warehouses, etc.)
Identifying personnel in MES systems to track job progress and production output
Authorizing use of vending machines or other monitored devices (copiers, forklifts, etc.)
BADGE TYPES
Indaco Project supplies different types of badges:
Magnetic badge
RFID 125 kHz (card or tag)
Mifare 13.56 MHz (card or tag)
SOFTWARE – WHERE TO VIEW CLOCK-INS?
The ND24 Night&Day Software is a web-based attendance portal accessible via personal accounts on PCs or smartphones. Users can view their daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly clock-ins, along with other data such as work appointments, business trips, leaves, permits, or overtime.
HR personnel also have administrative access to ND24 to configure, manage, and monitor employee attendance and activities.
WHEN IS IT MANDATORY? REGULATIONS
In ruling C-55/18 of May 14, 2019, the EU Court of Justice established that all companies (small, medium, and large) must have a “precise attendance tracking system […] that applies objective, reliable, and accessible criteria.”
The badge and its management software are tools companies can adopt to comply with attendance tracking regulations while respecting data privacy, offering a solution that guarantees data security without risk of external modifications or tampering. The attendance tracking software is also essential as it meets the needs of various corporate environments and supports increasingly common work modes such as smart working and remote work.
BADGING WITH A SMARTPHONE? HERE’S THE EMILY APP

Beyond traditional cards, Indaco Project developed the Emily App which allows smartphones to function as company badges and perform virtual clock-ins via Bluetooth BLE or GPS geolocation directly on the mobile device.
This digital solution provides attendance and access control systems without needing installed terminals and enables use by professionals who may not have physical badges, such as executives, suppliers, or external collaborators.
