 SESAMO is installed on a server based on Microsoft technologies (Windows Server 2003 or 2008 with IIS and support to ASP.NET 2.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008 Standard Edition or higher) and can be used on any Client with a browser web 7.0 or higher Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox 3.5 or higher, Opera 9.5 or higher.
The server installation includes the interface component (published on IIS) and a pool of dedicated services for the management of access control devices.
Because of number of terminals installed, we recommend to install the software on two different machines (Server Side) with the same features. The first one dedicated to the Web Interface and the second one to the pool of services for the management of access control devices. In such a configuration however, the SQL Server Database will be unique and centralized.
Simultaneous users
There will be no limit to the number of simultaneous users who can access to the web interface: Clearly, the number of users may affect the server hardware performance on which SESAMO is installed.
 Hardware connection
The terminals for access control, equipped with magnetic stripe readers of multiple technology, MIFARE transponder and, in certain passages, biometrics, are all connected to the system via Ethernet interface: in this way, each device is independent from the others and in case of breakdowns of the network cabling or power they can work in off line way; the wired directly into Ethernet also maximizes available memory for certification and badge lists for the historical transit, because this information should not be shared by a concentrator for all the slave terminals handled.
Hardware Management
Hardware management access control is via Ethernet with TCP/IP protocol, including communications with the firmware on board the terminals that takes place via FTP (TCP ports 20 and 21). Each issue of communication between server and access control terminal is marked with a special e-mail sent automatically by Sesamo to a technical manager: so you can be informed immediately in case of network problems or power line failure even putting out one terminal.
Firmware Features
Each terminal stores on board the list of authorized users on that specific access and the related timings (time slots and days of week), thereby ensuring reliable operation even in the absence of the network connection to the server.
The memory of the terminal is divided in a "dynamic" and customizable online storage capacity between transit and lists of authorized users, allowing, for example, to reach 5000 accesses presets (with circular buffer) and simultaneously up to 10000 authorized users.
Hardware specific features
Each terminal has two relays, through which you can operate the electric lock of the gate (supplied separately) and drive external signals such as red/green light (with the possible acustic signal connected to the red light).
Each terminal is equipped with keypad and LCD display: thanks to the keyboard, you can ask for an PinCode of safety (for example in special period of the day), while the LCD display communicates to the user the information about the operation of transit.
There is no limit to the number of terminals connected to an access control system software Sesamo.
